Hugs Cat Sanctuary
Statement About Recent Events in Kent, WA
I want to sincerely thank everyone who has shared the story about the horrific cat killings in Kent, Washington. The story is available on KIRO 7 and KING 5 News.
Please remain vigilant. Based on the information available, it appears the person responsible may be using a Wi-Fi jammer in an attempt to avoid being identified. The killer has also been meticulously placing dismembered cats—including severed heads and paws—back on the owners’ doorsteps to terrify and traumatize them. This is an incredibly disturbing and calculated act.
If you live in the Kent area, please keep your cats and other pets indoors whenever possible, and report any suspicious activity to local law enforcement immediately. Pay attention to your surroundings and help look out for one another.
Finally, if you’d like to support Hugs Cat Sanctuary, we are in desperate need of cat food. We are feeding multiple feral cat colonies and caring for cats that have nowhere else to go. We simply cannot continue this work without the support of our community.
Thank you to everyone who has shared the news, donated, volunteered, and stood with us. Every act of kindness makes a difference. ❤️🐾

Our Mission
At Hugs Cat Sanctuary, we believe every cat, no matter their past or condition, deserves love, care, and a safe place to call home. The sanctuary is a haven for injured, disabled, and feral cats who have nowhere else to go—those too vulnerable for adoption or unsuitable for barn programs. Our cats enjoy free-roaming access indoors and can explore a large, 1,700-square-foot, fully enclosed outdoor catio, where they can experience fresh air and freedom safely. Through gentle hands and patient hearts, we provide spay/neuter services, vaccinations, socialization, and love. We work to tame and rehome the cats who learn to trust and thrive, and for those who cannot find forever families, Hugs Cat becomes their forever sanctuary, where they will always be cherished and safe.
